Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore Marks 40th Annual General Meeting


The recent conclusion of the 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, held on May 23rd, 2024, at the esteemed The American Club Singapore, was a momentous occasion for the Chamber and its members. The event exemplified the chamber's dedication to fostering collaboration, advancement, and growth within the Canadian business community in Singapore.


Randy Quinn, past President of the Chamber 2023-2024, skillfully led the proceedings, presenting key updates, reflecting on past achievements, and guiding on the future direction of the Chamber. His leadership was instrumental in ensuring that the AGM served as a platform for both reviewing strategic planning from the past year and charting the course for the upcoming year.


One of the highlights of the AGM was the warm welcome extended to Caroline Berube, the incoming President of the Chamber. Caroline, Managing Partner at HJM Asia Law, brings a wealth of experience, having served as past president, Chair for the 2023-2024 term, and a member of the CanCham Executive Committee for the past 13 years. Her extensive experience and forward-looking vision will undoubtedly bring new perspectives and opportunities for the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and its members.


Additionally, the AGM introduced the new Executive Committee, comprising dedicated individuals who will play pivotal roles in guiding the Chamber forward. Kamran Azim, CFA from RBC will continue as Vice President, and Gustavo Galvis from Export Development Canada | Exportation et développement Canada will serve as Secretary. Amira Berrada from IFC - International Finance Corporation steps into the position of Treasurer, ensuring the financial health and stability of the Chamber.


The Chamber also welcomes the Executive Committee for 2024-2025, which includes: H.E. Jean Dominique Ieraci - High Commissioner of Canada to Singapore,  Allan Weston  Canadian International School in Singapore, Rohan Belliappa – Government of British Columbia, Heather (Ritch) Ungerman  Microsoft, Marlene Lee Han – Kyi Hla Han Ventures, Huijin Kong  LinHart Group, Pavel Bains  MixMob,Nagesh Devata  Payoneer, tim wong  Solace, Todd Handcock  Collinson, David E Wynne – Green Technology Asia and Brenda Wills  Haut-commissariat du Canada à Singapour | High Commission of Canada in Singapore.
