Using an interactive case study approach, Trowbridge tax expert and partner Ernie Nagratha will be at the Hive helping Canadian expatriates navigate the complex world of international tax. Along with his colleague Tham Suit Fun, Director of International Tax from Pioneer Associates, they will cover topics from a Singapore and Canadian perspective.

About the Speakers

Arun (Ernie) Nagratha
Partner, Trowbridge

Arun (Ernie) Nagratha knows a thing or two about turning opportunity into business. Ten years ago while working as a Finance Manager in Australia, Ernie experienced first hand what it was like to be an expat living abroad and saw a need for an expat tax advisor service. Ernie is now a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant, specializing in expatriate taxation as it relates to Canadians living and working around the world. ​
Ernie joined Trowbridge Professional Corporation shortly after its inception in 2002 to build the expatriate tax services practice. He has completed levels I and II of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-depth Taxation Program and is a current member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. Ernie graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto. ​

Vivian Kiang, TEP
Head of Wealth Planning, Asia

Vivian Kiang is the Head of RBC Wealth Planning Asia. Prior to rejoining RBC, Vivian worked as a Vice President and Wealth Planner with Citi Private Bank covering the Philippines and Hong Kong markets. She has also worked as a manager with Morgan Stanley and The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEx) in Hong Kong. Before relocating to Hong Kong, Vivian has spent 2 years working for the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto, Canada.
Vivian has over 19 years of experience in the financial industry including the wealth management field. She specializes in advising and structuring various types of wealth and succession planning arrangements including trusts and private investment companies for private banking clients.
Vivian obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (B.Com) from The University of Toronto, Canada and is a member of the Certified General Accountant (CGA) of Canada and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate and Practitioners (STEP) of the United Kingdom.
